Mirik is a great place to kick start scenic trek into Himalayas. For the adventure seekers treks from Mirik to Sandakphu, Phalut, Kurseong via Balasaan River and Namsu are possible. One can also trek into the Deosi hills or right up to the Indo – Nepal border at Pashupatinagar.

Nearest airport to Mirik is Bagdogra, about 55Kms, while the nearest railheads are Ghoom 41kms, Darjeeling 49Kms and Siliguri 53kms. The broad gauge railhead at New Jalpaiguri caters to the rail transportation to Mirik but is 60Kms away from the hill resort. Mirik is easily accessible by road from Darjeeling, Siliguri and Kurseong.


Mirik offers a large variety of accommodation with a reasonable tariff and easy availability. The hotels, lodges and tourist hostels are located near the Mirik Lake.
