Progressive
Writers Needed
Date: 2006-03-23
We bring together progressives so they can write to one another and so
they can read about one another. We carry conversations. We find leaders,
and we have them write about their good doings and dirty deeds. Our
writers have different progressive visions--leaving political platforms to
the DNC, for now--but they deliver voters to the polls, they manage
successful candidates, they shape our opinions, and they take down corrupt
opponents. They wage our progressive battles, and they should not be
alone. Our writers are tomorrow’s progressive power-brokers.
So you think you fit the bill to write? Drop us a line--and, even better,
a pitch--and we’ll help you put together a compelling narrative, even if
you’ve never written before. There may not be too much money involved, but
good writing is at stake.
Here are critical guidelines. Tell a story. Make an argument. Accomplish
both at the same time. Write a narrative about someone, even yourself: The
New Leader follows your mother in believing that you are the most
important person in the room, as long as we think you have a good story.
We're looking for stories at least two thousand words, political
narratives, investigations into young progressive leaders’ lives and jobs
and dreams. Check out the site to get a sense of our content.
