Content Coordinator, College Park, MD

The American Physical Society (APS), the premier membership
association for physicists, seeks a Web Content Coordinator.
Responsibilities include
planning and coordinating the collection, organization and posting of
materials for the APS website and other APS domains, as well as
recommending creative ways to utilize the web in fulfilling the Society’s
overall mission. Knowledge of content management systems, metadata and
information architecture is required. Strong written and verbal
communication skills and excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills
are needed. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with good project
management capabilities.
Experience with PhotoShop,
Acrobat, and Dreamweaver preferred. Familiarity with HTML, CSS and RSS
a plus. Must have ability to coach staff in “writing for the web”
techniques that reflect common best practices for web presentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications-related and experience in web content
editing/managing, including, content strategy development, publishing, and
information architecture necessary.
Must have experience using
content management systems (CommonSpot preferred) and functional
understanding of web graphic design, layout, and presentation. Starting
salary 50k to 60k depending on skills and experience. Outstanding benefits
