Editor/Senior Editor (SOMA / South Beach)

WetFeet, the leader in
career content online and in print, is seeking a full-time Managing
Editor/Senior Editor to work in its downtown San Francisco/South of Market
headquarters.
THE POSITION:
The Managing Editor/Senior Editor will enforce quality of content,
supervise editorial staff, and manage print and online content development
and production. Specific responsibilities will include the following:
· Contribute to and implement print and online content strategy;
· Enforce high editorial standards across content properties;
· Manage the development of online and print content, including giving
direction to writers, editors, compositors, and others involved in the
editorial production process;
· Oversee online properties, from developing original content to
coordinating with the designer and web developer on the look and feel of
various sections;
· Hire, train, and manage freelance and in-house writers and editors;
· Plan, oversee development, edit, and proof online and print content;
· Work with content team to develop new content products;
· Ensure projects adhere to budgets and schedules;
· Manage printer relationships;
· Work with others to develop and execute content marketing plans;
· Work with WetFeet’s content licensing partners as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Specific qualifications include the following:
· A minimum of four years’ editing and writing experience at a major media
organization;
· A minimum of two years’ proven project and editorial management
experience;
· Experience hiring and managing freelance writers and editors in a
deadline-driven organization;
· Experience conducting primary and secondary research;
· A thorough understanding of business in multiple industries;
· An abiding interest in career-related issues;
· Bachelor’s degree required;
· Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a
team-oriented environment;
· Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and layout software.
