Editor and SEO Assistant/Researcher

This is a home based full time
remote position that needs to be based out of Los Angeles, CA. Working
hours are from 5:00 am – 10:00 am PST every week day for editorial. NO
EXCEPTIONS. Other hours of the day are for consulting client assistance
and other duties as needed.
Summary: Performs daily news editorials as directed by the CMO as well as
assists consulting clients with editorial and SEO research. Acts as an
assistant to the CMO and VP on various editorial and research projects.
TechPad Agency is seeking a remote Online Editor and SEO Assistant
Researcher who will be directly responsible for researching and
publishing editorial items within the various properties we manage.
Successful candidates will be able to generate a consistent flow of strong
news and feature ideas, build a stable of dependable freelancers, juggle
staff and freelance assignments, write compelling headlines and summaries,
create e-mail newsletters and write articles. The ideal candidate will
have managed writers in a fast-paced online environment and have interest
or expertise in business-related news and information. The skills required
for this position include ensuring the quality of content by working as
part of a self-directed team; organize information for greatest
effectiveness and an ability to assist in layout of Web pages. This job
requires journalistic experience in writing and editing combined with
experience working with online media. Knowledge of Search Engine
Optimization techniques from experience is a very desirable skill, but can
be trained.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Daily editorial function for major web hosting news network
• News and information gathering and analysis
• Writing and correcting press releases
• Generating proper html formatting for news via Dreamweaver
• Publishing news daily to a network of online properties via online
interface
• Maintain relationships with PR departments of constituent companies
• Consistently meet or exceed goals, demonstrating focused efforts, an
understanding of TechPad Agency’s products and business model, and an
understanding of the Internet advertising and news environment.
• Assist in Gathering Data from the Internet and assembling information
into an organized format.
• Evaluating sites for technical, copy-related and linking opportunities
• Assist in other projects as assigned.

Compensation: Salary based on experience
Telecommuting is ok.
