The Portal Content Manager is a content management
and web publishing expert with an eye for identifying and
evaluating good content and the editing skills to keep portals
fresh and targeted. The position requires a versatile and
detail oriented marketer who can drive portal strategy as
well as manage day-to-day publishing and maintenance.
•Keep existing portal content and specifications current and
relevant for users
•Drive strategy and implementation for the creation of new
portals
•Establish schedules, milestones, deadlines, and launch strategies
•Act as a project manager for day-to-day content publishing,
keeping portal launches on time and on budget
•Monitor various portals and news services to identify, evaluate,
and classify content according to pre-defined content criteria
•Prioritize and manage action items and weekly portal publishing
responsibilities for the technical administrator
•Build, manage and update project plans and keep client and
teams up to date on program status
•Create, optimize and document content publishing processes
to streamline workflow and increase project efficiency
•Identify opportunities to co-market content on other sites
as appropriate
Candidates for the Portal Content Manager must bring:
Experience •Minimum 3 years of product marketing, marketing
communications or public relations experience
•Minimum 1 year in business-to-business marketing in the technology
industry
•Minimum 1 year experience as website producer or internal
portal manager
•Experience creating and managing SharePoint websites a plus
•Proven experience with website launches
•Proven expertise with editing and managing technology marketing
content
•B.A. degree in marketing, communications or related field
