Women Work & Health
Initiative (WWHI) -
NGO Delhi India
Women
Work & Health Initiative (WWHI) is a unique forum that has emerged from
the IV International Congress on Women Work & Health held in November
2005.
It
seeks to adopt a multi disciplinary empirical approach to issues of
Occupational Safety and Health and promote a better work life balance
between women’s work and home life.
This forum will also seek to initiate a radical rethink of perspectives
fashioned by patriarchal cultures, by mainstreaming gender as a central
policy.
Mission - WWHI
•
Recognize women’s work in its entirety – in the organized, unorganized
sectors and the domestic sphere.
• Create awareness on women’s issues e.g. gender discrimination, domestic
violence, sexual and reproductive health, and emphasize the importance of
sanitation and hygiene.
• Develop sustainable programmes that can assist in enhancing the quality
of life.

• To promote sensitivity and awareness about gender issues and encourage
women’s empowerment through income generation schemes.
