Kuttikanam - A Hill Station That Stands Apart
Located in Idukki
District of Kerala, India, the idyllic hill station of Kuttikanam
is located 3500 ft above the sea level. It beckons the tranquility
loving traveler with its laid back lifestyle, pleasantly cool climate
and panoramic views of vast green carpets of tea plantations. You
will be amazed at the magnificent sight of green capped hills with
silver streams gushing down. Also to catch your eye are the exotic
seasonal flowers growing in the hilly terrain.
Historically none
the less important, the place was a summer camp of the Travancore
Kings of Kerala. The summer palace is a must see. The place
has a wonderful climate throughout the year, but the best time to
visit is from August to January. The place experiences a
heavy rainfall and therefore visiting the place after monsoon is
recommended. If the time when you plan the visit is Nov-Jan, the
place is beautifully decorated with mist and wild flowers and is
ideal for honeymooners.

Spread over acres of land, walking through the lush green
plantations and watching the tea garden workers plucking the
leaves is truly a memorable experience.

Tomb of Muslim saint Peer Muhammed, Hope church etc are
some other attractions you can’t afford to miss.

Kuttikanam is easily
accessible from the Cochin International Airport by road. The place
is not crowded like many other renowned places and you will completely
be able to relax and refresh yourself.
