We have already discussed
my #1 method of getting people to come visit your business… hiring.
Until you have hired a decent sized crew (10-20 people), you should never
even consider moving to the next step. Why?
Because this is the very easiest way of driving customers to a site I
have ever experienced. This is the #1 method that Walmart, Home Depot,
Kmart, McDonalds and every other major retailer uses. I already covered
the numbers. In my business, I see somewhere between 0.1% and 0.4% of job
applicants actually showing up for their first day of work and finishing
it.
That may seem kinda low, but
McDonalds and Walmart report very similar numbers. The good
news is that those numbers mean that somewhere between 250
and 1,000 people are exposed to your business for every person
you hire. That means if you want a crew between 10 and 20
people, you will end up having 2,500-20,000 people being exposed
to your company.

Think about McDonalds
or Walmart. On the day they open, they have a full house. How do
they do that? Some people drive by the construction area and
notice that a new store is being built. However, a vast majority
of those customers on the first day are the result of the hiring
process. Everyone ends up knowing someone who knows someone who
applied for a job at the new store. That’s how word gets around.
That’s the “launch” process. All major retailers understand it.
They place massive full page newspaper ads not to announce the new
store or to pitch their products… they place that massive full page
newspaper ad to announce that they are hiring!
We’ve covered the launch though. What’s next?
Once you have your crew hired and have your first few customers, you will
always do better selling more to your current customers. Keep that in mind
as well. But you also need new customers constantly in order for your
business to grow. This chapter is to tell you about the most effective
method I have ever found to get new visitors to a web-site AFTER the
launch of your business.
The most effective way I have ever found is to publish helpful media in as
many publications as possible. Media can be videos, pictures, and text.
The most effective (because of the number of distribution channels
available) has been text for my businesses.
There are literally tens of thousands of publications that want you to
write an article on the topic of your business. That’s just a fact. There
are newspapers, ezines, magazines, books, web-sites, blogs and dozens of
other publishers who exist merely by publishing articles and then selling
ad space.

This is
FREE advertising for you (if you know how to use it)!
It is important to know how to use it. Here are two tips:
1) Forget about selling. Think “teaching” and “entertaining.”
2) Distribute unique content to as many publishers as possible.
The more the better.
The first tip is extremely important. Don’t worry about
mentioning your products, your company or anything like that.
Simply write a helpful article that teaches something or entertains
in some way… on the topic of your business. If your business
is about “weight loss”, write a helpful article about weight
loss without mentioning your business or product.
That is important
because these publishers aren’t in the business of giving
you free advertising. They want your free content to get people
interested in their publication. They make their money from
paid advertisers. You have to help them to get them to help
you. And they will help you! It’s automatic. It’s an understood
agreement in the business. They will mention your company
separately from the article somewhere in the publication…
or they will include a short paragraph labeled “about the
author” right after the article… or they will mention that
you are the founder, CEO or whatever of ________ company right
in the byline. Help them and they will help you. Don’t advertise.
Let them do it for you.

The 2nd tip is
just as important. There are those in this business that teach
something a little bit like what I’m teaching here, but they miss
the entire point. They teach posting articles to article directories.
That’s just plain stupid. Article directories are only visited by
other authors and certain kinds of search engine spammers looking
for junk to put on their spam sites. They aren’t even a real publication
being read by people interested in the topic of interest. If you
want to post to the junk article sites, go right ahead… but remember
rule #2. Also get your article in the hands of 10,000 or more real
publishers! That’s what works. Posting to 10,000 sites sounds like
a lot of work; doesn’t it? It would be. Fortunately real publishers
have email addresses. They don’t have weird web-forms to keep out
the article spammers. They just have an email address where real
articles are submitted for publication in their real publication.
That’s the way the real world works.
There is a third rule though. Real publishers want unique content.
They don’t want to reprint the same thing that is in 10,000 other
publications. Why would they?
Fortunately, there is a tool that quickly and easily takes an article and
two rewrites of that article and turns it into thousands of unique
articles and automatically submits them along with a personalized email to
the editors of real publications. That tool is Artemis Pro. You can get it
here: http://www.ArtemisPro.com
Currently it is a downloadable product so you can be up and running
instantly.
