The Choice
I’ll tell you a story of a man who knew
Everything on earth and the sky so blue
He was a wise chap, this old man
And he was famous throughout the land
One day there came to him a boy of six
And said, sir, I am in a fix
I don’t know whom I should love more
My father, mother or brothers four
Said the wise man, Son don’t worry
As long as you love, you won’t be sorry
But tell me why you wish to know
Whom it is that you should love more
Because, said the boy, I have two sweets,
One I will give and the other I will eat
The wise man said enjoy them both very well
Love sometimes means you shouldn’t always tell.
