Mumbai
Deserted By Raj
|
|
21st October 08
surely must go as a black day in Mumbai’s history. As Mumbai woke up in
the morning news of his arrest came in & hooligan party workers of MNS
made Mumbai halt shops, schools, autos, taxis were made to halt by these
workers. Normal life was heavily disrupted many middleclass people stayed
indoors fearing a threat to their life.
Like many I went ahead
towards my office in Andheri, trains were nearly running empty there were
hardly any people on the roads & there was no public transportation to
commute, but what was more shocking & shameful was there were no Policemen
on duty when they needed the most by the common man.

Mumbai which over the
years has been tagged as one of the safest & cosmopolitan city in India,
took a severe beating of this image on Tuesday when it remain closed for
whole day just for the sake of Raj Thackeray leading to losses of crores
of Rupees to the state as well common people who earn their bread
daily.

Many lower class people in
Mumbai would have slept hungry on Tuesday for this sorry act of some
unethical individuals.
As a responsible citizen I
appeal to the state as well as authorities in centre to take a note of the
proceedings in Mumbai & see to it that such incidents are not repeated &
strict punishment is handed to them so that, it acts as a precedent &
other political parties do not engage in such petty & communist politics.
|
I don’t think Mumbai which
contributes so much wealth to the country deserves such politicians who
are taking a step backwards & getting in to the pressures of some
influential individuals.
