Tips For Conducting A Successful Interview

One of the most important and ongoing activities that most expanding Companies indulge in is conducting Job Interviews to find suitable candidates to join them and suitably fill vacant positions.

 

Often, Companies ask personnel from their HR department to meet with short listed candidates and judge their suitability for the position in question. While there are other times when a Company may ask its Department Heads to conduct interviews for their individual departments since these heads know and understand the requirements of the job very well.

Moreover, at the end of the day, the newly appointed candidate will be working under the guidance and supervision of the Department head. 

What cannot be ignored is the fact that a lot is riding on these Job Interviews - in terms of time, resources and the future growth of the Company.   • Prepare yourself prior to the Interview: Keeping in mind the requirements of the job opening, prepare a list of questions to ask the candidates. This is the time to know whether the candidates possess those qualities which will come in handy while taking care of the role with the Company.

  • Create a Pleasant Atmosphere: As the interviewer you must realise that simple appearing for the job interview is cause for nervousness for the prospective employee. hence, do your best to put the candidates at ease. Doing so will help the candidate to open up and communicate with you freely.

  • Dress smartly and professionally.

  • Provide relevant information to the candidate regarding the role their have applied for. Also, acquaint them with the Company policies and other background information. All the best!
