There is no denying the fact that a well drafted and honest resume can do
wonders for your job search effort. However, this is true only when your
resume is specific, focused and accurate.
Very often, prospective candidates make costly errors in their resume and
end up losing out on the opportunity to prove themselves and land the job.

Become Repetitive:
Don't repeat what you might have already
mentioned in your resume. It is okay to have a 1-2 page resume that aptly
summarizes your qualifications and previous experience. One of the
prerequisites of writing a good resume is being truthful and straight
forward about your skill set and work experience.

Fail to Write a Cover
Letter: Many job seekers do not understand
the importance of a Cover Letter and hence, don't write one when applying
for a job. This can prove to be a big mistake as the Cover Letter plays an
important role in reinforcing your suitability for the said position, what
you can offer to the Company and acts as a prelude to that all important

Lack Focus:
Being specific in your resume is a rule of thumb if
you want to make an impact quickly and effectively. Don't beat around the
bush. Rather, say what you have to say (skills you possess, job
experience) in an organised and efficient manner.
4. Lying in Your Resume: In your desperate attempt to qualify for
the job interview or get the job, never lie in your resume. Stick to facts
and only mention such information in your resume about your education,
qualifications and previous work experience which is true and can be
proven. Shortcuts such as lying and forging information will not take you
very far professionally.
